SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has a strong and growing presence in India and will be reinforcing this position at this year’s Aero India exhibition. As a key player in defence electronics, the Company is ready and able to bring its world-class technologies and solutions to the Indian market. SELEX Galileo is the only European Company to fully own the technology behind its sensors, mission systems, protection systems and UAS, meaning that it can develop effective technology transfer strategies and establish joint ventures to support in-country localisation.

This year SELEX Galileo will be highlighting its Airborne Tactical Observation and Surveillance (ATOS) system, which delivers wide area and targeted surveillance (overt or covert), anti-submarine warfare, environmental monitoring and border control. The ATOS, which has been sold to customers worldwide with more than 40 systems installed on 9 different platforms, is offered with an integrated Seaspray AESA radar, representing an ideal solution for the Indian Navy K-28 upgrade programme.

SELEX Galileo’s sensor portfolio and systems integration expertise can be leveraged across a wide range of platforms and domains for security and defence applications. Key opportunities exist for AESA surveillance radars and AESA fire control radars, offered on two of the latest generation fighters, as well as for best-in-class, operationally-proven protection suites for fixed and rotary wing applications.

In the land domain SELEX Galileo can offer products that significantly boost the situational awareness and protection of troops such as the Hostile Artillery Locating (HALO) system and the future soldier sensor suite, as well as plug-in electro optic solutions for new vehicles and upgrade programmes. All of SELEX Galileo’s solutions are modular, scalable and exportable.

SELEX Galileo is an established partner of India with the Company already operating its Mirach 100/5 target drone at the Indian MoD’s Integrated Test Range (ITR). Furthermore, thanks to legacy Sea King and Sea Harrier sub-systems the Company has established repair facilities in-country and has trained Indian personnel in the design of key systems.
