Rostec State Corporation presents the latest developments in aircraft technology, air defence and radio-electronic warfare at "Aero India 2017". Rostec holding companies - Russian Helicopters, Technodinamika, UEC, Tecmash and Shvabe participate in the 900 sq m Russian exhibition and intend to conduct negotiations with strategic partners in the framework of executing current and negotiating new contracts, as well as proposals for new projects under the Make in India program.

At Aero India-2017 executives of Rostec State Corporation delegation are to hold negotiations with representatives of the Indian government, heads of India’s Ministry of Defence and IAF, as well as HAL, Larsen & Toubro, Bharat Forge among others. The joint Rostec and Rosoboronexport delegation is headed by the Director of International Cooperation and Regional Policy Viktor Kladov.

Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov: "AeroIndia-2017 is an important event for India’s and regional aviation market. India has for many years been a strategic partner of Russia and of Rostec. Our two nations have successfully worked on multiple projects bringing Russian technology to India and producing state-of-the-art military equipment locally, most notably Su-30MKI fighter jets, T-90S tanks and the Brahmos missile.  Now the Modi government adopted the «Make in India» course aimed at localization of production of military products in India and it involves creation of joint ventures and deep transfer of technology. In the framework of this program we have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture for the production of Ka-226T in October 2016 at the BRICS summit. Now there is active implementation of this project. We are also working on the expansion of cooperation in various fields in accordance with Make in India – in the traditional sphere of military-technical cooperation and in non-military areas such as electronics, biotechnology and composite materials."

Russian Helicopters

India has traditionally been considered a special strategic partner of Russian Helicopters, part of Rostec State Corporation. More than 400 helicopters produced in Russia are registered and operated here.

This year, Russian Helicopters’ key exhibit in India is the Ka-226T model.  In 2016 Russian Helicopters, Rosoboronexport and HAL Corporation created a joint venture to localize production of the light, multirole Ka-226Ts and to deliver them to the Indian market. The JV resulted from an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries. In addition to the assembly, it provides terms for maintenance, operation, repairs and maintenance of these helicopters.

The light multirole Ka-226T helicopter with a coaxial main rotor system has a maximum takeoff weight of 3.6 tonnes and can carry up to 1 tonne payload.  Its main distinguishing feature is modular design. A passenger cabin can be easily installed, which allows to carry up to 6 people or modules fitted with special equipment: medical, search and rescue, military or transport. The helicopter is easy to operate, boasts incredibly precise hovering, has excellent manoeuvrability and handling, easy to maintain, has large power capacity and features maximum safety.

In addition, visitors are shown a multi-purpose Mi-38 in the passenger version.  The Mi-38 is one of the most highly automated civil helicopters in the world.  Its flight and navigation systems allow to engage auto pilot, land, hover, and stabilize the helicopter in any flight mode. Due to the technical solutions used in the Mi-38, it is superior to other helicopters in its class in terms of payload, passenger capacity and basic flight characteristics. The helicopter can be used in a wide range of climatic conditions, including marine, tropical and cold climates.

A presentation of the light multirole Ansat helicopter is also scheduled.

Besides these presentations, particular attention will be paid to the new after-sales service concept for foreign customers.  As part of these services, Russian Helicopters is actively developing a "one window" format in India, which is aimed at building strategic relationships with helicopter operators and implies non-tender based, long-term agreements and transition to a service format extending to the complete helicopter life cycle.

Technodinamika

Technodinamika, part of the Rostec State Corporation, for the first time participates at AERO INDIA 2017.

Technodinamika is enlarging its scope of facilities jointly with India Aerospace players for manufacture of aircraft spares and components under PM’s initiative of Make in India program. The company is successfully supplying to IAF different aggregates and spares for AN-32, IL-Series and has successfully executed most contracts much before the delivery period including the ROH for 11 TA-12 APUs for IL-76 in record time.

Technodinamika has opened a representative office in India to cater to the needs of its partners and expand under Make in India programme. A facility has now been set up at a Moscow airport to cater to the needs of customers to deliver spares within 72 hours worldwide.

Technodinamika applied for an accreditation as a supplier for HAL, after receiving it the company will be able to implement joint projects in the framework of Make in India program, aiming at attracting foreign investment and the organization of joint enterprises with foreign partners. Cooperation with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is expected in terms of joint development of systems and components for Russian-made aircraft and helicopters in India.

Technodinamika is ready to participate in joint development on such systems as: oxygen and fuel systems for helicopters, power systems and others according to our capabilities and interest of the Indian side.

UEC

The large-scale cooperation between UEC, part of the Rostec State Corporation, and India continues mostly in the area of engines for military aviation. The biggest project is the ongoing delivery of the AL-31FP engine (powers Su-30MKI fighter) kits for its licensed production in India. At the present time UEC is also anticipating an interest in its civil production from the Indian customers.

At AeroIndia UEC presents the PD-14 fifth generation civil aircraft engine, AL-41F-1S combat aviation engine, VK-2500PS brand-new helicopter engine and BARK-88 engine digital control system.

Tecmash

Tecmash, part of Rostec State Corporation, presents Bullets with a Plastic Master Device for 30-mm aircraft guns, and demonstrates a new generation of Air Bombs.

Of particular interest is a special invention by Bazalt weapons manufacturing company: a unified glide cluster bomb PBK-500U SPBE-K with the ability to deliver stand-off self-homing smart-fusing elements capable of defeating modern armored vehicles, command points and antiaircraft missile systems.

The bomb is designed for different heights from both front-line aircrafts and helicopters. It is especially efficient in mountain warfare.

Tecmash also presents collet chunks with a plastic master device for 30 mm autocannons for the Su-27, Su-25, MiG-29 aircraft types, Mi- helicopters and other carriers. These provide for significantly improved barrel life, stability of ballistic parameters and significant improvement of gun firing rate.

In the meantime, Tecmash is successfully implementing a contract with India on supplying Mango tank rounds. According to the agreement, the delivery is performed in two stages. India got the first set of weapons in 2016. The second transfer is scheduled for February 2017.

Tecmash has been cooperating with India for many years supplying tank rounds to India. Currently the company intends to grant a license to India for the production of these weapons.

Shvabe

Shvabe, part of the Rostec State Corporation, presents various optical systems for military and civil aviation: GOES 337M, 13SM1, OLS SON 730, SON 820 and SMS 831

The modernized around-the-clock surveillance and search system GOES-337M is designed to be installed on Mi-17 helicopters. It allows for around-the-clock search of objects in any weather conditions, recognition of targets, using unguided systems and air-launched weapons, as well as provides for the helicopters landing on unequipped sites. The system consists of two television cameras (monochromatic and color), a thermal camera and a laser rangefinder.

13Sm-1 quantal infrared search and track device (for MiG-29 and modifications) and OLS infrared search and track device (for Su-27, Su-30 and modifications) are designed of modern hardware components.

SON 730 optical surveillance system with a 360-degree azimuth angular range along the sightline is designed for the search, detection and recognition of objects at any time; it can be installed on any types of carriers: light aircrafts and helicopters, powered balloons and dirigibles, ships and motor boats, ground equipment and stationary observing points.

SON 820 and SMS 831 optical surveillance systems are compact and light (5kg and 2kg respectively). They are designed for unmanned aerial vehicles and aerostatic complexes.
