The demand for military cargo aircraft in the US is on the decline threatening closure of production lines if no new orders are received. The US aerospace major Boeing Company is in search of new markets in the Middle East and Asia from where it is hopeful of securing new orders for the C-17 Globemaster III. “Our hope is that future sales occur in those regions this year,” Bob Ciesla, Program Manager for the C-17 Globemaster III, said in an interview. Ciesla declined to discuss specific countries that may order the $200 million to $270 million plane, but a Boeing union official said one country showing interest is Saudi Arabia.
